Karen Lackey

As Global Head of Integrated Drug Discovery, Evotec, Karen is responsible for greater than 1,200 scientists covering medicinal chemistry, biology, pharmacology, molecular discovery, and in silico R&D in more than 15 therapeutic areas of disease expertise.  Prior to joining Evotec, she spent six years in Academic Drug Discovery as the Director, Arizona Center for Drug Discovery (ACDD) at the University of Arizona and Executive Director, Therapeutic Discovery at the Medical University of South Carolina.

Karen was also an entrepreneur in early stage biotechnology, contributing to five start-ups in platform technologies (e.g. PyramidBio, BlinkBio).  Her pharmaceutical roles ( more than 25 years) included Vice President of Discovery Chemistry at Hoffmann-La Roche (USA) and Global Vice President in the Molecular Discovery Research Division of GlaxoSmithKline.
