Dr Henni-Karoliina Ropponen is a Venture Associate at the AMR Action Fund (AMRAF), the world’s largest venture capital fund focused on investing in antibiotics, antifungals, and related antimicrobial technologies. Since joining the Fund, Dr Ropponen has contributed to the evaluation of new investment opportunities, as well as supporting AMRAF’s growing number of portfolio companies, including serving on the Board of Directors for BioVersys AG, and as a Board Observer for Utility Therapeutics and Elion Therapeutics.
Prior to joining AMRAF, Dr Ropponen held roles at the Global Antibiotic R&D Partnership, Roche, and the Helmholtz Institute for Pharmaceutical Research Saarland. She received a Master’s degree in Chemistry with Drug Discovery from the University of Strathclyde, and a PhD in Natural Sciences, specialising in antibiotics and medicinal chemistry, from Saarland University.
