Debra Barker, MD MSc

Dr. Debra Barker is a renowned international executive in the life sciences sector, with over 25 years of senior leadership experience across major pharmaceutical companies including Roche, SmithKline Beecham, and notably Novartis;  where she held pivotal roles such as Development Head for Infectious Diseases, Immunology and Transplantation, Global Programme Head in Oncology, and Head of Clinical and Medical Services.

Her biotech expertise spans multiple Chief Medical Officer and Head of Development positions, including leading the medical strategy for Polyphor’s successful IPO on the SIX Swiss Exchange. Dr. Barker currently serves as a Non-Executive Director for three publicly listed biotech companies: Qureight Ltd (UK), BergenBio ASA (EU), and CureVac NV (USA).

She has a Diploma in Pharmaceutical Medicine and received a MSc in Immunology from the King’s College in London and a Medical Degree from Queens’ College, Cambridge, UK.
